Straighten a scan auto-deskew

Is your scan tilted or shot at an angle?

ScanReviver squares it up: perspective correction for angled photos, small-angle deskew so text runs level, and 90° rotation, then a clean download.

Your file is deleted the moment it's done. The big PDF sites keep your bank statements and IDs on their servers. Here the original goes right after processing, the result after 45 minutes — or sooner, on your click.

Two kinds of crooked, both fixed

A crooked scan is usually one of two things: the whole page was shot at an angle (perspective), or it is only slightly rotated so the text tilts (skew). ScanReviver handles both, detecting the page corners for perspective and levelling small tilts so lines of text run horizontally.

How to straighten a scan
  1. Upload the photo or scan (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC).
  2. Check the detected corners and drag them onto the page if needed.
  3. Use Rotate left/right for a sideways or upside-down page.
  4. Preview to confirm the text runs level, then download JPG, PNG or PDF.
Straighten, then clean

Straightening pairs naturally with cleanup: once the page is square, evening out the lighting and whitening the background makes a much bigger difference. Continue with clean a scanned document or enhance a scan. To flatten a page shot at a steep angle, the same corner-drag does the work.

ScanReviver improves readability; it does not use generative AI and never rewrites text, changes numbers, edits dates or recreates signatures or stamps. Very dark shadows, text hidden under a finger, glossy glare and severe blur can still look imperfect, so always check the result before you rely on it.

Common questions

Does it straighten automatically?

It detects the page and corrects perspective and small tilts automatically, and you can drag the four corners to fine-tune before downloading.

Can it rotate a sideways page?

Yes. Use Rotate left or Rotate right to turn a sideways or upside-down page in 90° steps.

What if auto-detection misses the page?

You place the four corners yourself by dragging them onto the page; the crop and straighten then follow your corners.

Is it free?

Yes: no account, no watermark, no daily cap. Your upload is deleted right after processing.

How can I straighten a scanned document or photo online for free?

Upload the photo above. ScanReviver detects the page and squares it up automatically, so there's nothing to install and nothing to pay for.

How do I straighten a crumpled or torn scanned document?

Flatten the page as much as you can before photographing it — the tool corrects the angle and perspective, but it can't un-crease paper that's still physically wrinkled or torn in the shot.

How do I straighten and crop a photo of a document?

Upload the photo, drag the four corners onto the edges of the page if needed, and both the crop and the straightening follow those corners automatically.

How do I reorient and crop a scanned document?

Use Rotate left or Rotate right to fix the orientation, then drag the four corners onto the page to crop away everything else — both work together in one pass.

Can it crop and straighten in one pass, without touching two separate tools?

Yes — automatically crop and straighten scanned photos is exactly the one-upload flow above: the corners are detected, the perspective is corrected, and both happen together before you download.

Is there a way to straighten a scan photo online, or straighten a PDF scan specifically?

Yes — upload a photo to straighten scan photo online the normal way, or upload an existing scanned image to straighten pdf scan pages before exporting as PDF; both go through the same corner-detection step.

Is there a website to align scaned document properly, or just straighten a document generally?

Yes — this page works as a website to align scaned document properly (even a mistyped "scanned" finds it): upload the photo, let it detect the page, or drag the corners yourself to straighten a document by hand.

How do I unwrinkle scanned document pages, or fix straightened-up paperwork that's still crooked?

Perspective and angle are corrected automatically, so straightened-up paperwork comes out square — but to unwrinkle scanned document creases for real, flatten the paper as best you can before photographing it, since creases in the shot itself can't be edited out.

Is there a scan app straighten feature, or does the OCR feature to straighten out pages happen automatically?

Straightening happens automatically on every upload here, scan app straighten included — and yes, the ocr feature to straighten out pages runs first, so OCR always reads an already-squared page.

Can I straighten scanned photographs from an old print, not just a fresh document?

Yes — straightening scanned photographs works the same corner-detection way regardless of what the photo is a picture of, document or otherwise.
