Terms of Use

These are the plain, honest terms for using ScanReviver, a free online tool that cleans up photos and scans of documents. By using the service you agree to what is written here. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The service is free and "as is"

ScanReviver is provided free of charge and "as is", without any warranty of any kind. We do our best to make it useful and reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available, work perfectly, or clean every image the way you hoped. Features may change or be discontinued at any time.

What you may use it for

You may use ScanReviver for lawful documents that you own or otherwise have the right to process. You are responsible for the files you upload and for making sure you are allowed to process them. You are also responsible for keeping your own copies: results are deleted automatically after a short time (see our privacy page), so download what you need before it is gone.

Acceptable use

It is a cleanup tool: not certification

ScanReviver improves the readability of a document. It does not certify, authenticate, notarise, or legally validate any document, and it must never be relied on for that. A cleaned file carries no official status of any kind.

The tool does not use generative AI to rewrite or invent content — it never fills in letters, changes numbers, edits dates, or recreates signatures or stamps. It adjusts how the page looks (cropping, straightening, contrast, colour or black & white), and that image processing can shift fine details, so you should always check the result carefully before you use, send, print, or file it. What you do with the output is your responsibility.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee uptime, and we do not guarantee that every image will clean perfectly. Very dark shadows, covered text, and heavy blur may still look imperfect. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanReviver and the people behind it are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the service — including lost files, lost time, or reliance on a cleaned document.

Advertising

To cover the cost of running the service, some pages show ads (via Google AdSense). Those ads are served by third parties; how they operate is described on our privacy page.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
