Drop a PDF bank statement and get one clean list of transactions: date, description, debit, credit, amount and balance, as real numbers you can sort and add up. Check the preview, then download it as Excel (.xlsx) or CSV. This bank statement converter is free for 15 statement pages a day, with no account and no watermark, and it works on scanned statements too. To convert a bank statement PDF to Excel free, or a PDF bank statement to CSV, drop the file below.

A bank statement is not a neat table. The date is printed once for a whole day, a description runs over two or three lines, and money out and money in sit in different columns. The converter reads the statement line by line and gives back one row per transaction with six columns:
Amounts arrive as numbers, not text, whether your bank writes 1,234.56, 1.234,56, 12.50- or (12.50). SUM works straight away.
The transactions appear in a table on this page first. When the statement prints a running balance, every row is checked: the previous balance plus this transaction must give the balance on the next line. Rows that do not add up are marked, so you know exactly which lines to compare with the PDF.
No running balance on your statement? Then there is nothing to check against, and the page says so. Compare the totals with your statement before you rely on the file.
Take the Excel (.xlsx) file if you want to work in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice: dates are dates, amounts are formatted with two decimals, and the header row stays in view while you scroll.
Take the CSV if you are importing into accounting or budgeting software. Most of them ask for exactly this: a date, a description and an amount per line. Dates are written as 2026-03-31 and amounts with a dot as the decimal sign, so nothing depends on your computer's regional settings. Check your app's column mapping the first time.
It does not look for a bank's name; it looks at the layout. We tested it cell by cell on sample statements we made ourselves, with made-up names and amounts, in these layouts:
Where it struggles, honestly:
Day or month first? The converter decides from the statement itself: a date like 15/03 can only be day first, 03/15 only month first. If every date in the file could be read both ways, it assumes day first, or month first when the amounts are in dollars. The preview shows you which it chose.
A page with no text on it, a scan, is read with OCR (text recognition) first, and then goes through the same steps. That works up to 20 scanned pages per file, for statements in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. OCR can misread a digit, so use the balance check: a misread amount shows up as a marked row. For a phone photo of a paper statement, make a clean PDF first with the document scanner on this site.
Many banks e-mail statements as a PDF locked with a password, often a date of birth or a customer number. Type it in the password box before you drop the file. It is only used to open the PDF, in memory, for this one request.
This is your financial data, so it is handled differently from our other tools. Your statement is read in memory and dropped as soon as the answer is sent. There is no copy on our disk, no download link on our server and no 45-minute window: the Excel file is built in memory and sent straight to your browser, and your browser makes the CSV itself. A large upload can pass through a temporary file while it arrives; that file is removed when the request ends.
What we do keep is a count: how many statements and pages were converted. Never a name, an account number, a description or an amount. Like on every page of this site, visits are counted with a scrambled form of your IP address, and the daily page allowance is kept in memory until midnight.
Free: 15 statement pages a day and up to 25 pages per PDF, with no account, no e-mail and no watermark. That covers a few monthly statements. Many converters stop after one to five free pages.
Doing a year of statements, or several clients? A €5 ShinobiTools pass gives 400 statement pages a day and PDFs of up to 200 pages for 30 days, and it works on our other tools too. Just today? The 24-hour pass is €3.
Want the other tables out of a PDF, like an invoice or a price list? PDF to Excel turns every ruled table into its own sheet.
Drop the PDF on this page. You get a table of every transaction with the date, description, debit, credit, amount and balance, and an Excel (.xlsx) download. Free for 15 statement pages a day, with no account and no watermark.
Yes. After the preview there are two buttons: Excel and CSV. The CSV has one line per transaction, dates as 2026-03-31 and amounts with a dot as the decimal sign, which is what most accounting apps expect when you import.
Your statement is read in memory and not saved: no copy kept on disk (a large upload passes through a temporary file that is removed when the request ends), no download link, nothing kept after the answer is sent. We only count how many statements and pages were converted, never names, account numbers or amounts.
Yes, up to 20 scanned pages per file, in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. Text recognition can misread a digit, so check the rows the balance check marks.
Type the password in the box above the drop zone before you drop the file. It is only used to open the PDF for that one request and is not stored.
The previous balance plus that transaction does not give the balance printed on the statement. Usually an amount landed in the wrong column or was misread in a scan. Compare that line with the PDF before you use the file.
It reads the layout, not the bank name: statements with one line per transaction, a date at the start and the amounts on the right, such as Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance or Datum, Omschrijving, Af, Bij. It does not recognise amounts without two decimals, or a date printed on its own line above the transactions.
15 statement pages a day, and up to 25 pages in one PDF. A €5 pass gives 400 pages a day and PDFs of up to 200 pages for 30 days; a 24-hour pass is €3.
Numbers. Debit, Credit, Amount and Balance are number cells with two decimals, and the date is a real date cell, so you can sort, filter and add up straight away.
