About ScanReviver

ScanReviver is a free tool that cleans up scanned documents — it straightens skewed pages, removes shadows, enhances contrast and exports to PDF or image — no account required, no watermark. ScanReviver is part of the ShinobiTools suite of free AI-powered browser tools.

What to include in your message

Bug report: describe the document type (A4 scan, photo, book page), what you expected to happen and what went wrong. A screenshot of the unexpected result helps us reproduce it.

Feature suggestion: describe the use case — what you were trying to do and why the current tool didn't cover it. We read every suggestion.

Question: check the FAQ on the home page and the Scan to PDF first — most common questions are answered there.

Response time

We usually reply within a few days when an email address is provided. Messages without an email are read but cannot be answered individually.

Before you write: two things that aren't bugs

Two messages account for most of what people write in about. If you've hit one of these, you already have your answer and don't need to wait for a reply:

• "This PDF has too many pages — this tool does up to …": every tool on this site caps how many pages it processes in one go, so a very long PDF gets turned away with that exact message rather than run half the job. Split the document into smaller pieces first, or run it in batches.
• "This PDF is a scan — pictures of text, not text": some tools here (translation, text export) need a PDF that already has real, selectable text underneath it. A scanned or photographed page is just a picture, so those tools reject it. Run it through the OCR page first to add a text layer, then use the tool you originally wanted.

In the 38 days we've been measuring (15 July – 21 August 2026), 23 uploads were turned away with a message like one of these, out of a small, steady stream of visitors from 27 countries. None of that reached us as a support message, because the tool explained itself on the spot — which is the point of writing the error instead of just failing silently.
